Dr. Burkhart is accepting new patients for naturopathy. The self-pay rate is $250 for the initial appointment (45 minutes) and $200 for each return appointment which are under 30 minutes each. Appointments can be virtual or in our office in West Hartford. There is a six-page intake form and several consent forms that we require to be completed and returned to us by the day before your appointment.

If you want to put through insurance, we do not confirm benefits. We are in-network with Aetna, Anthem, Cigna and ConnectiCare only here in Connecticut for naturopathy. We do not submit to out-of-network insurers. Naturopathy will fall into the specialist category as they are not allowed to be primary care doctors as mandated by the state. When you call your carrier to see what kind of coverage you have for naturopathy, the CPT codes are: 99204, 99205, 99214, 99215 and 99417. If you do have coverage, be sure to ask about copays, coinsurance and deductibles.

Dr. Burkhart is accepting new patients for acupuncture. The self-pay rate is $150 for the initial appointment and $95 for each return appointment, all appointments are 50 minutes each. Appointment must be in person at our office in West Hartford. There is a six-page intake form and several consent forms that we require to be completed and returned to us by the day before your appointment.

If you want to put through insurance, we do not confirm benefits. We are in-network with Aetna, Anthem and Cigna only here in Connecticut, NOT CONNECTICARE. We do not submit to out-of-network insurers. Many of these insurance providers do not provide acupuncture coverage as part of their standard coverage. However, company/individual policies may have additions or riders on their own policies to specifically include some type of acupuncture treatment.

You can call your provider to see if the following codes for procedure codes for acupuncture are covered - 97810 & 97811.

If you do have acupuncture benefits you then want to follow up with "is coverage diagnosis dependent?" Meaning they only cover specific diagnoses, so you will need to explain the reason for your visit. You will also want to inquire if there is a limit per year. Also, we strongly recommend getting a reference number for that call, so if your claim is denied, you will have it to challenge any denial.

Pauline Weissman is accepting new nutritional patients. The self-pay rate is $165 for the initial appointment (1 hour) and $125 for each return appointment which are 45 minutes each. Appointment can be virtual or in our office in West Hartford. There is a four-page intake form and several consent forms that we require to be completed and returned to us by the day before your appointment.

Pauline is in-network with Aetna, Anthem, Cigna and ConnectiCare only. We are in network with Medicare but for only two specific diagnoses: renal disease and diabetes. If you have Medicare coverage and have one of those two diagnoses, you will need to provide a referral from the diagnosing physician.

We do not confirm benefits. We do not submit to out-of-network or secondary insurers. Nutrition may be part of an overall wellness benefit. You can call your provider to see if the following codes for procedure codes for nutrition are covered - 97802, 97803 & 99404. Be advised a medical referral may be necessary for coverage.
